IT’S green lights for Tom Hawkins to face the Lions with the Cats' key pillar successfully completing Geelong’s main training session on Tuesday.
Hawkins showed some discomfort and stiffness in his neck on the bench during the final quarter of Friday night’s clash with the Bulldogs.
“It’s all positive with Tom fortunately,” coach Chris Scott says.
“It was an acute thing that came out of nowhere really. It was a bit of an innocuous incident.
“He’s recovered really well, he’s just come off the training track and he moved really freely which was pleasing.”
Mercurial Cat Gryan Miers looks to be closing in on his AFL return after getting through his VFL return from a fractured fibula unscathed.
Miers had 15 disposals and kicked a goal in the Bendigo Bank Cats loss to Footscray.
“Gryan’s played a little bit of match practice for us and is back in full training,” Scott says.
“We’re almost at the point now where we’re trying to work out when we can bring him back.
“Gryan’s in our best 22 it’s just a matter of when we push the button and bring him back into the team. He’s likely this week or next.”
Lachie Henderson is also a chance to return to the side, subject to a fitness test after he was a late withdrawal with a hip complaint last Friday.
