A brilliant performance in tough conditions has seen Georgie Prespakis move to the top of the AFL Coaches' Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year Award leaderboard.

The Cats midfielder polled a maximum 10 votes from the coaches after another standout performance in Geelong's clash with North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos.

Prespakis collected a personal best 32 disposals - the first time a Cats Women's player has had more than 30 disposals in a game in the AFLW - and also game-high figures for metres gained (464) and tackles (9).

The 19-year-old showed her class in tough conditions at UTAS Stadium, and was a standout in the Cats' first half. Prespakis continued her strong form in the second as the Cats mounted a fightback.

Prespakis also had 10 intercepts, six clearances and six inside 50s.

The 10 votes see Prespakis jump from equal-second to outright first on the AFLCA AFLW Champion Player leaderboard with 35 votes for the season to date - five more than Jasmine Garner and Kirsty Lamb in second.

Amy McDonald was the only other Cat to feature in the voting on Friday, getting five votes from the coaches following 26 disposals, nine clearances, six tackles and five inside 50s against the Kangaroos.
