Geelong midfielder Cory Gregson will not play again this season after suffering a stress fracture in his foot.
The 19-year-old reported discomfort over the weekend and scans revealed the issue.
Gregson will rest the foot in the short-term while the injury heals.
“Cory suffered some slight pain that progressed and he was immediately sent for scans,” Geelong’s general manager of football, Steve Hocking, said.
“The scans revealed the stress fracture.
"Normally the recovery period for an injury like this is 8-10 weeks, meaning Cory will not be available again in 2016.”
Gregson has played 29 games and kicked 17 goals since debuting last season.
