SIMPLY by having one of the more original names ever to grace the AFL, Wylie Buzza has all the ingredients to be Geelong’s next cult hero.

The big forward from Queensland, who is 197cm and 99kg, was the club's third selection (pick No. 69) in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft.

"Wylie has only played football for the past thee years, mainly as a forward but also little in the ruck," Cats recruiting boss Stephen Wells said.

"He did a good job in the national championships and in the TAC cup."

AFL.com.au describes Buzza as follows:

“The Queensland key forward is strongly built and likes to throw his weight around both in attack and when in the ruck.

“Boasting strength and athleticism, he was a member of the Queensland U18 State Academy this year and represented the Allies.

“Is a strong mark and capable of kicking a long goal.”

Buzza was profiled in the Toowoomba Chronicle on the eve of the draft.

The 19-year-old said he was going into the draft with high hopes despite only taking up Aussie Rules in 2010 after initially playing rugby league.

"I was always confident that I would always make the AFL, but I never thought I would be in a position where AFL clubs are calling you and coming to your house," he said.

“I have spoken to about half of the AFL clubs. They don't give much away."
